Why I’m Thankful

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoying the holiday season so far. I don’t know about you, but I try not to get too involved in the ‘shopping’ part of it all. Since I have Kays’ Kollection, I always love to create something unique and special for everyone every year. Plus, we all know it’s not about the presents but HIS presence.

I know it has been a while since I’ve posted but I am happy to announce we are finally home, and Marley is doing amazing. My husband and I got to celebrate our 1st anniversary together here in Florida. I’m very thankful for that because some days… I wasn’t too sure if we were going to make it to tell you the truth. It’s been hard, not because we are terrible people, but it is not easy getting remarried after I’ve already been through so much with someone else. Plus, I was on my own for 8 years after that. However, I have learned A LOT! We were introduced to Dr. Gary Chapman and his concepts of love languages during our premarital counseling. I read the book while I was in California and it is amazing, I highly recommend it. You can find it on Amazon, I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby actually (I love that place!). Anyways, talking about the concepts would be a whole ‘nother post, so just go get the book or go check it out online and take the test.

Marley was also able to celebrate her 10th (10…double digits!!) birthday here at home. We had a quiet family celebration since she was (and currently still is) on restrictions to be around a lot of people right now. Her little immune system must get strong again. She decided on the unicorn theme since that seemed to be the theme that has been started since she was in Cali. However, when we are able, her real birthday celebration will be at the American Girl store! She’s SO excited!!

So a lot has been happenin’ around here for sure! I also just completed my graduate degree; the last class was a doozie so it kept me pretty occupied. All that being said, I have A LOT to be thankful for, we are truly blessed. It’s crazy to realize it took us 6 years to get to this point with Marley and we still have a ways to go, but through it, all my faith has strengthened, and I’ve been able to share our story and still sharing it in ways I will never know, but God does. I love that we can share God’s love through our story. If you in the middle of the storm, my only advice is to not give up and give it all to God. That’s all he wants. You can’t do it all and I speak from experience because I used to try myself. You will feel such a weight lifted when you have complete faith in him. Trust me he knows what he’s doing. This isn’t his first rodeo. Tell your story and use that to build your faith. Let me tell you, I was a little nervous to share my story at first but then I realized I may help others.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
